POKO Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Active Development Limited built the POKO app as a commercial app. This page describes how POKO handles information when you make music with it.

The short version: POKO is a local-first instrument. It has no user accounts, does not send your projects, recordings, or any personal data to our servers, and includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Everything you make stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

Information We Collect

POKO does not collect or transmit personal information to our own servers. The data the app works with stays on your device:

  • Projects, patterns and settings — your tracks, sounds, and arrangements are stored locally on your device.
  • Recorded audio — when you sample a sound, audio is captured from the microphone only while you hold to record, processed entirely on your device, and saved into your local project. It is never uploaded.
  • Exported and recorded files — WAV bounces and live recordings are created on your device. They are shared only if and when you choose to share them.

Microphone

POKO requests microphone access only so you can record your own samples. Captured audio is used solely for that purpose, stays on your device, and is never sent to us or any third party.

Purchases (POKO Pro)

POKO offers an optional upgrade, POKO Pro, as auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. To unlock and restore entitlements we use RevenueCat, which receives your App Store purchase/receipt information and an anonymous, randomly generated app user identifier. We do not receive your name, email address, or Apple ID. RevenueCat's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No account, email address, or password.
  • No analytics, telemetry, or crash reports sent to us or any third party.
  • No advertising or ad-tracking identifiers (no IDFA usage).
  • No access to your photo library, contacts, or location.

Data Retention and Deletion

All of your projects and recordings live on your device. You can delete saved projects from within the app at any time, and deleting POKO from your device removes all locally stored data. Purchase records are held by Apple and RevenueCat and are managed through your App Store account.

Children's Privacy

POKO is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us.

Security

Because POKO keeps your work on your device and does not transmit it to our servers, the security of your projects depends on your device's own protections (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, encrypted backups).

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on this page. This policy is effective as of 2026-06-17.
